This page will give you more details on what to expect at a MapleSpace Workshop.  Take a simple piece of wood and turn it into a fabulous piece to cherish or gift!


What happens at a MapleSpace Workshop?

MapleSpace brings you and your group a fully customizable social crafting workshop.  You and your guests will pre-select a custom wood project and design.  Once at the event, MapleSpace will guide you through the prep, stain, paint and stenciling process.  We bring all the supplies, set up and clean up - you bring the guests and enjoy creating and socializing together!  

We offer a variety of paint and stain colors to really personalize your project!  All projects are wood-based and may involve sanding, painting (latex, chalk), staining (water based) and using small tools.  We use natural wood that may come with extra 'character' which adds to the uniqueness of your project (knots, crevices, markings, etc).  

Workshops last between 2.5 - 3 hours and will start on time.  MapleSpace will take  you and your guests through a series of steps which will take up the full time.  

What if I'm not creative?

MapleSpace is perfect for all skill levels!  MapleSpace will guide you through each process and you will come away with a fabulous piece to keep or give as a gift!  

What should I wear to a MapleSpace Workshop?

You will be doing a little sanding, staining and painting.  We provide aprons and gloves but recommend wearing comfortable clothes!  


How many guests can attend a MapleSpace Workshop?

Since we are mobile, the number of guests really depends on the size of your space.  Each guest needs an individual workstation (tables, counters, etc).  Typically, our workshops are staffed for a maximum of 12-15 guests, but if you have a larger party interested, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you!  A minimum of 6 guests is required to host a workshop.Please note: Additional charges for travel outside our regular service area may apply.

How much does a MapleSpace Workshop cost?

Prices vary depending on the type and size of project.  Most projects range between $35-$65.  Projects using custom stencils and/or frames may incur additional charges.  Stay tuned for frequent MapleSpace savings and special offers!

Do I need a reservation?  What is your cancellation policy?

Yes, reservations are required and payment is due 7 days prior to the event. A weeks’ time allows us to prepare the custom wood and stencils for your workshop!

Due to the custom nature of the projects, MapleSpace has a no refund policy.  However, if you are unable to attend your scheduled workshop and you cancel within 48 hours, a credit will be applied to a future workshop.  Alternatively, you may have someone attend the workshop in your place, but they will be making the design that you preselected.  Please note: should you not attend or arrive 15 minutes post start time, you will forfeit your payment.  

What are the age requirements for a MapleSpace Workshop?  

Our workshops are geared toward 18+ but if you have an interest in a private workshop for a younger crowd, drop us a line and lets talk!  We have done several children's parties and are happy to offer simpler, less time consuming options for the younger set!

Can I bring food and drink?  What about adult beverages?  

MapleSpace is at your location!  So as long as you obtain the proper permits (if necessary), it can be BYOB-BYOW-BYOF ("beer" "wine" "food").  Please note that adult beverages are only for those 21+!  

What areas do you serve?

We will travel @15 mile radius of Bothell WA (e.g. Bothell, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Woodinville, Kirkland, Kenmore, Silver Lake, Snohomish).  Should you want to host an event elsewhere, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.  Additional travel costs may apply. 

OK, this sounds like fun!  How do I bring MapleSpace Workshop to me?  What does a host need to do?

Once the event date and location are confirmed, we require a refundable $50 deposit.  We will provide the event host with a link to send to guests, where they may preselect their project design at checkout.  A minimum of 6 guests are required to host an event and all guests must reserve and pre-pay for their project at least 7 days prior to the event.  Due to the customized nature of the workshops, this lead time is needed to ensure all supplies and stencils are prepped for your event!  

MapleSpace will arrive approximately 30-45 minutes prior to the event start-time for set up and will stay 30 minutes after end-time to clean up.  We ask that hosts provide guests with their own workspace (tables, islands, etc) as well as space to display paint and stain bottles.  

You are welcome to provide your guests with food and drinks. We do offer breaks throughout the workshop for guests to nibble or refill their drinks, but if you want dedicated time for this, we recommend asking your guests to come early.  

As the paint and stain require drying time, we start our workshops promptly. Guests arriving 15 minutes after the beginning of the event will not be able to complete their project and therefore will not be permitted to participate. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a credit for late or missed events.   

If you are unable to register 6 attendees by the registration deadline, your listing will be CANCELLED.  You may apply your deposit and reschedule a second workshop within 45 days of the original date.  If you do not reschedule a second workshop within 45 days of original date, your deposit will be FORFEITED.  If you fail to register 6 attendees by the second registration deadline, you will FORFEIT your deposit.
